Dir. Nelson A. Silva, CSP

PSIS National Director

He is currently the National Vice-President of PSIS International. He was awarded as a lifetime member and lifetime CSP and belongs to CSP Class 66. He is an awardee of Outstanding CSP in the field of Academe 2018. Currently, he is one of the members of the Education and Standards Committee (EDSCOM) handling various subjects in CSP Review Program and appointed as Chairman – PSIS International Convention 2021.

 

Dr. Nelson A. Silva, CSP was the former College Administrator and member of the Board of Trustees of the Parañaque City College (PCC). As PCC Administrator, he participated actively in the development of automized program for special groups, added new courses and engaged in industry consultations for inclusion in curriculum revisions.

He obtained his B.S. in Civil Engineering from the Technological Institute of the Philippines (TIP), Manila in April 1990, B.S. Criminology (ETEEAP) from the Cagayan de Oro College in April 2019, Teacher Certificate Program (TCP) from the Olivarez College in March 2015, his Master in Public Administration (MPA) from the Jose Rizal University in March 2003, Master in Business Administration (MBA) – Bridging in June 2006 and became Doctor of Business Administration (DBA) from the University of Perpetual Help System DALTA in April 2010.

As a professor, he has taught in the Graduate School Management of the Philippine Christian University from July 2019-present, a past professor at the University of Perpetual Help System- DALTA Las Pinas Campus, College of Business Administration and Graduate School of Business, Aklan College, Engineering Department , Kalibo, Aklan ,and at Southville International College. Later, he became the Dean , College of Business Administration, OIC Dean , College of Hotel and Restaurant Management, Colegio de Sta. Monica, Las Pinas City, and zoomed as Department Head of a Technical Vocational Program in a concurrent capacity.

 

He did not contend himself in academic affairs but extended himself in various association affiliations that made him be awarded the Highest Distinction of Leadership Excellence in Education Asia, a local government category: ACLADEB; Fellow Royal Institution (Singapore) in Business Administration (FRIBA); SENIOR Fellow Royal Institution (Singapore) in Management (SFRIM); SENIOR Fellow Royal Institution (Singapore) in Security Management (SFRISec).

 

As to his Local Organizations he has busied himself as: Charter President – Cavite Oakwood Good Samaritan 102 Lions Club; CHED, NCR Member, Regional Quality Assessment Team (RQUAT); National Director & Treasurer, Philippine Society for Industrial Security (PSIS); National Auditor, Association of Colleges and Universities (ALCU); Training Methodology Assessor; Chairman, National Board of Judges: Search for Idols in TESDA, 2016-2019; Co-Author of the Book: Disaster Preparedness Risk Reduction Management Program; Vice- President, Southern Luzon: Technical Vocational Schools Association of the Philippines (TEVSAPHIL); 2018 JAD Excellence Awardee for Engineering (10 Outstanding ANILAONONS); Founding President, Accredited Competency Assessor’s Association Incorporated, 2016-2018; Past President, Makati Platinum Lion’s Club LY 2018-2019; Vice-President for External: Association of Technical Vocational Schools (ATVS), Inc., 2011-2016; Vice-President of the Asian + Council of Leaders, Administrators, Deans (ACLADEB) 2017-2018; Vice President for Peace and Order Affairs: Manila Chamber of Commerce and Industry; Commander (Lt. Speaking of his humble beginning, Dr. Silva started to earn a living by working as a SECURITY GUARD in different agencies and companies. From there he aspired to rise from that indigence. He stood courageous as he walked along, with an intense belief within him that courage, when combined with energy and perseverance will overcome difficult that are insurmountable. He continued to think that working in the right direction when steadily practiced, even by the humblest will rarely fail of its reward. He was determined NOT to remain base by means of obtaining a higher education. From there he rose from the ranks to Vice-President for Operations, Security Training Director, Consultant, Dean, Senior Fellow in different areas abroad, and now College Administrator of the lone Paranaque City College soon to become Paranaque University.

 

He is a member of TESDA Regional Technical Education and Skills Development Committee in Education and Training. A member of CHED Regional Quality Assurance Team-RQuaT for Business Management Programs.

 

As a reserved officer of Philippine Navy Reserved Force designate as Training Officer of Philippine Navy NCR Reservist holding a rank of Commander (Lt Colonel).

 

He is currently the President and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of N.A. Silva Management Consultancy Services.
