Dr. Tom L. Cabrillas, RCrim, CSP

He is a Registered Criminologist, currently the Dean of the College of Public Safety (COPS) at the First Asia Institute of Technology and Humanities (FAITH Colleges), and the Executive Vice President (EVP) of the Security Company of FAVC Group. He obtained his Bachelor of Science in Criminology from the Naga College Foundation. He also took up Master of Science in Criminology, Major in Criminalistics from Metro Manila College. In July 2017, he obtained his Doctor of Philosophy in Criminal Justice with Specialization in Criminology at the De La Salle University-Dasmarinas. He is a Criminologist Licensure Examination Board Reviewer for different colleges and universities in the Philippines since 2006. As a former security and safety manager of a five-star residential resort and a commercial bank, he has handled various corporate security management and consulting works outside the academe, which include security management, assessment, planning, and training.

 

He has attended several certification programs from both security and safety such as the Certified Security Professional by PSIS International, Certified Security Trainer by PARSTS, Accredited Private Security Training Director by PNP-SOSIA, Accredited Security Consultant by the PNP-SOSIA, and Certified Trainer on Occupational Safety and Health.

 

He was a regional director for PCAP Region IV Chapter, a member, CPD monitor and evaluator for Professional Criminologist of the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC), and is currently  a member, regional quality assessment team of Commission on Higher Education (CHED-IV A) for Criminal Justice Education.

 

He was awarded as an Outstanding Criminologist of the Philippines for the year 2014 by the Professional Criminologist Association of the Philippines (PCAP), and as an Outstanding CSP for the year 2017 by the PSIS International.

He attended numerous certification programs such as Certified Aviation Security Instructor, Certified Security Professional, Certified Security Trainer, Counter-Terrorist Operator, Certified Security Screening Specialist, Civil Service Career Professional, and many more.

 

He has been part of the aviation security industry for 15 years as an Airport Police Officer. Currently, he is designated as the Officer-In-Charge of the Training and Research Unit, Airport Police Department. Prior this designation, he was the Assistant Officer-In-Charge, Surveillance Division in a concurrent capacity as the Officer-In-Charge, Training and Compliance Section of the MIAA Screening and Surveillance Department.
