Prior to joining the private security sector, Rudy as fondly called by colleagues, was a member of the Philippine National Police. He was part of the Aviation Security Group assigned as aviation security specialist in Ninoy Aquino International Airport. In 1999, he moved to the Office of the Secretary, Department of the Interior and Local Government, and worked with its Intelligence and Investigation office. After a year, he transferred to the Counterintelligence and Security Division of the Directorate for Intelligence engaged in national-level high profile counter-intelligence operations and intelligence analysis. He was then assigned as member of the Anti-heinous Crime Committee representing the counter-intelligence office. Following on 2005, his assignment was directed to the Foreign Intelligence Division. He then worked with foreign intelligence counterparts in pursuit of international terrorists and criminals in and out of the country.

In 2007, Rudy entered the private security sector as Senior Asset Protection Specialist in a security consulting firm, followed by Security Manager Positions in a BPO, Security Printer company and Real Estate Developer.

He is a certified security professional (CSP) conferred by the Philippine Society for Industrial Security-PSIS, certified anti-terrorism specialist (CAS) conferred by the Anti-terrorism board-ATAB USA, and Business continuity certified specialist (BCCS) conferred by the Business Continuity Management Institute-BCMI Singapore.
